Kathleen S. Roomsburg
Kathleen S. Roomsburg, age 92, of Moorefield, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2023 at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg.
Born February 2, 1931, in Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late Homer Lee Swick and Anna Ardelia (Mongold) Swick. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Warren D. “Hump” Roomsburg whom she married on June 27, 1951; one son, Mark S. Roomsburg; four sisters, Janet Williams; Rose Turner; Helen Hartman; and Lucy Martin; two brothers, Jackie W. and James H. Swick.
Kathleen was a graduate of Petersburg High School and was a lifelong homemaker. She was the oldest of eleven siblings. She was a member of the Moorefield Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by one sister, Virginia Phillips of Petersburg; three brothers, Robert V. Swick, Roger D. Swick and wife, Sharon, all of Petersburg and John T. Swick and wife, Barb of Moorefield; one grandson, Bryan Roomsburg (who she raised) and wife, Kylee; one great grand-daughter, Amber Roomsburg; and a niece, Brenda Harlow, who she also raised as well as numerous other nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Elmore Funeral Home on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor James Yao officiating. Burial will follow in the Olivet Cemetery in Moorefield. Family will receive friends one hour prior to services.
